COVID-19 – Returning to bowls v2

Below are the new Covid-19 bowling restrictions as advised by Bowls Victoria until further notice:

RETURN TO BOWLS GUIDELINES

(from Bowls Vic Tuesday 14th July 2020)

  • Clubs must receive approval from their local council to open their Club (only if they are Council owned).

  • Members must contact their local club as to when they are open.

The online booking system has been reinstated. Book online at:

A link will be placed on the homepage of our Club website.

  • Outdoor bowls is limited to a maximum of 2 people per rink, with a patron cap of 10 per green. To be clear – this means no pair challenges (e.g. 2-4-2 games).
  • 1.5 metres must be the minimum distance maintained between each rink.
  • Shared equipment (jacks & mats) must not be shared/only handled by one person, and must be cleaned and disinfected before and after use.
  • Club houses must be closed (with the exception of toilet facilities).
  • Outdoor toilet facilities can be used.
  • Official training or club competitions cannot be held.
  • Clubs must update all signage at the club to advise members on the new requirements.

All bowlers are required to follow good personal hygiene practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19 including:

  • Use a hand sanitiser that contains at least 60 percent alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Cover nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. If someone does not have a tissue, cough or sneeze into upper sleeve or elbow.
  • Do not share drink bottles or equipment
  • Stop shaking hands, hugging or kissing as a greeting.
  • Ensure a distance of at least 1.5 metres is kept between users at all times

Dear Members,

Lockdown 2 is serious and only bowling will be permitted during this period, please no BYO or social gatherings.

Failure to abide by the rules will result in penalties as set out below:

STRIKE 1: Polite reminder of the rules

STRIKE 2: Instructed to leave premises for the rest of the day

STRIKE 3: Banned from premises until next easing of restrictions
